Who are we?
Darumbal Community Youth Service Inc. (DCYSI) works to provide vital services for Indigenous youth and families in the Central Queensland region. DCYSI was incorporated in 1994 under the Associations Incorporations Act (Qld) 1981 and was the first service to be funded by the government to provide Indigenous youth programs in Rockhampton in 1995. It remains a community-controlled body governed by an elected Management Committee. We proudly service Central Queensland including Rockhampton, Gracemere, Woorabinda, Mount Morgan, Yeppoon, Central Highlands.

“We will uphold the rights of young people and families.”
Our Purpose
To address the holistic needs of children, young people and their families.
Our Values
Cultural Pride. Respect, Inspirational Leadership, Community Driven, Commitment, Safety, Creativity & Innovation and Diversity.
Here at DCYSI our values are deeply rooted in our cultural pride, connections and practices. It is from this foundation that we cultivate a community driven commitment for safety, creativity, innovation and diversity. Through our values we foster inspirational leadership, underpinned by respect. In 1994 the traditional custodians of the land, the Darumbal people, granted us permission to use the name Darumbal for our service. We further recognise and respect the Darumbal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which our service operates. We also acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians in surrounding areas where our service operations extend to.
